Washing and cleaning a printed tote bag
We want you to enjoy the tote and we know that sometimes it will get dirty and then you
might want to clean it. Here are some tips.
1. Try not to expose it to certain things. Avoid putting it down outside on the ground,
make sure food and liquids are properly sealed, and try not to expose them to
environments that are humid or high in temperature.
2. Use spot cleaning in certain situations. When it comes to tote bag printing
sometimes a spot might get dirty so there is no need to go through the whole
cleaning process when all you need to do is a spot clean. Dampen a cloth or
sponge with gentle soap and cold water, use a circular motion at the spot until it
is gone, and rinse it with cold water.
3. Keep full washing to just when needed. Limiting how often you do a full wash
you can avoid things like the printing fading, or damage.
4. At PrinteeSG we also strongly suggest you learn about the different fabrics. The
material has a big impact on how you clean it, cotton needs to be washed in cold
water, the canvas can be machine or hand-washed, and Polyester can also be
machine or hand-washed. Hand washing is the more protective and delicate
choice.
5. When you order tote bag printing you should consider turning it inside out when
you wash it so you protect the ink.
6. Only wash your printed tote bags with cold water as hot water can not just cause
shrinking it can also damage the material and the ink.
7. Do not use harsh cleaning products. Stick to gentle soaps.
8. Avoid tumble drying. One of our printed tote bags should be air-dried only. The
heat can cause damage and rubbing against other things in the dryer can also be
a problem. Ironing is also not a good idea really, if you really need to, turn it
inside out and make the iron on low or medium heat.
